Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 Arsenal:

A determined Arsenal side moved back to the top of the Premier League table after a hard-fought victory over Wolves on Saturday evening.

Leandro Trossard's opener moments before the interval put Mikel Arteta's side in charge at a raucous Molineux, prior to captain Martin Odegaard's 90+5 striker to seal a vital triumph.

Speaking after the match, Trossard said: "I just had to handle it so quick so I went with the toe.

"I tried to get it on target and it went in super well. I'm pleased it went in. We really needed it."

The victory moves the Gunners back to the top of the table by a single point, albeit with an extra game played over second place Manchester City, who beat Chelsea at Wembley to reach the FA Cup final - with fellow title-hopefuls Liverpool heading to Fulham on Sunday.

The victory ensured Arsenal have now won 11 of their 13 Premier League games in 2024 and recorded 15 clean sheets from 33 league games this term - at least five more than any other team - including a clean sheet in each of their last six away league games.

The clean sheet also meant it was the club's most in a single campaign in the competition since 2015-16 (18).

In other impressive statistics, since the start of last season, only Erling Haaland (27), Mohamed Salah (26) and Ollie Watkins (24) have been involved in more Premier League goals away from home than Gunners captain Ødegaard (23 – 14 goals, 9 assists). Indeed, his goal was his 50th goal involvement in the competition (31 goals, 19 assists).

Defeat for Gary O'Neill's side means they have failed to win in their last five league games, their longest winless streak of the campaign.
