usual thread starter… is there any real point in discussing a competition. Probably not. But someone will click the ‘GOT A COMMENT OR OPINION ON THIS ARTICLE? DISCUSS IT FURTHER HERE’ link, so I have to do this.

However, if you can actually remember Charles Buchan’s Football Monthly, do tell us whether it was actually any cop. I think ‘Shoot!’ came along in the late 1960s and blew it out of the water – as ‘Shoot!’ was weekly rather than monthly.

Alternatively, has anyone actually got a copy of this book already? Worth £14.99?
