Barca travel/hotels advice

Lived there for a bit. Avoid the Raval and Born neighborhoods when it comes to lodging. Taxis are decent in Barcelona so staying near the ground or above the Diagonal isn't a big issue. Lots of good hotel deals in Les Corts. The main action for match day will be down by Port Olimpic as it will be all week.

Got hotel SB Icaria Monday-Friday for 50 quid a night. Rooftop pool and short walk from fan zone.

Check Ryanair for best remaining flight prices. Seeing plenty for less than 105 quid return regardless of dates. It's very easy to get from Girona to Barcelona city centre.

Give away your wallet and mobile phone as it probably feels better than getting them knicked.

Cheers mate. Got return flights for £113. Is the SB Icaria city centre then?

Yes it's close to one of the two main nightlife districts and metro station that is 4 blocks away is only two stops from main square.

If it's of any use to anyone we stayed at Acta Ink 606 Hotel which Google now calls "Leonardo Boutique Hotel Barcelona Sagrada Familia"

http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/leonard ... al;ucfs=1&

We did the Nou Camp tour in June 2015. Fantastic. Would've liked to see a match but there wasn't one at the time.
The hotel was great. Had everything we needed, Was about 30mins from the stadium.
Hotel is very close to the tube and has a supermarket next door.

Perhaps you might want to be closer to the ground but just thought I'd post this as we found it to be very good.
the staff were excellent and extremely helpful.

I'd stay here again because it worked like clockwork.

unless you like drinking beer and singing loud songs at bemused passers by avoid las ramblas and the fans zone . Barca has sooo much more to it although catalans have scouse size chips on their shoulders and a ridiculous superiority complex !
if u need flight and hotel advice to this city u had better stick to butlins !

For bigger groups I have used Friendly Rentals in Madrid who rent out very plush serviced apartments in Barcelona. Works out much cheaper than a hotel. With regards to tickets, Barca are already selling their tickets to members with a general sale on Thurs.

Given the number of credits that will be required for our end (we only have 3), what are the thoughts about getting tickets in the home end and keeping schtum for 90 mins?

http://www.friendlyrentals.com/en/apart ... tion-1.htm

Spanish cities are notorious for prolific pick pockets. Be wary of going into certain parts of the city.

For anyone that travels regularly to Europe to support Arsenal it is worth getting a BA Avios credit card, you can easily build up enough avios to fly business class to places like Barcelona for less than the cost of a Ryanair/Easyjet flight. This also includes access to lounges with unlimited supplies of food and booze.
