Issue 261 of The Gooner published 14th October 2016
Issue 261 of Arsenal’s best-selling fanzine, The Gooner, includes a healthy dose of nostalgia, with the infamous visit of Spartak Moscow to Highbury in 1982, and the 1991-92 season recalled (remember the famous tractor tyre print away kit?). The summer transfer window is reviewed, and a request is made to move on from the AKB v WOB debate amongst warring fans.
There is a trip report from Paris St Germain, a piece on the wisdom of letting Serge Gnabry leave the club, whist the rule is run over the attacking players in the Academy team ranks. In The Away End drops in on the Chelsea forums at the time of their recent 3-0 defeat at the Emirates, whilst the question of whether Arsène Wenger would be a good fit for the England manager’s job is also discussed. Other topics are why the hypocrisy in English football will always hold back the national team and how to enjoy being an Arsenal fan in 2016 without stress.
There is an interview with controversial celebrity supporter Piers Morgan and all the usual regulars including Talking Reds, the Spy, Mickey Cannon, Anger Management, Well Played, Inbox, North Bank Times and the 91st Minute.
