Arsenal boss Arteta has given an injury update on Bukayo Saka by saying: "If we want [play him against Palace] there will be a good chance..."

However, the Gunners boss confirmed that Riccardo Calafiori and Jorginho will both miss the Palace game, by saying: "Riccy [Calafiori] is out. Jorginho will be another few weeks."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is unsure Jorginho will play again this season after picking up an injury vs Brentford

"I am not certain he plays again this season. We will have to see. I am not talking about any dates. It was a quite scary situation. The good news is he is recovering and he is better."

Arteta adds it is "our incentive is to win our game and to continue" ahead of tomorrow's match with Crystal Palace.

Arteta also praised Gabi Martinelli after the Brazil attacker hit two goals in a week at the Bernabeu and Portman Road to help the Gunners to two important victories.

The Arsenal boss said of Martinelli's good form: "When you look at the consistency over the last few years and his age, it is not easy at all.

"His work ethic, his understanding, it is the type of character and leader that we want in the team."

With the season-defining Champions League semi-final looming against PSG, starting with the first leg at the Emirates next week, Arteta refused to be drawn on the notion of resting players against the Eagles to keep them fresh for PSG.

"We cannot think in those terms," said Arteta, adding: "If the players are fit and they are ready to play then they have to play. Physically they are good and emotionally they are good."

Arteta was asked if the six day break between Wednesday's game and the first leg against PSG in the Champions League influences his team selection: "We have more days, the amount of options we have is not that many, especially because of where the players are coming and the amount of minutes they can play. It's good to have a little gap because we are really short in numbers."

If Arsenal lose tomorrow Liverpool will win the title and Arteta was asked if it adds extra incentive: "Our incentive is to win our game and to do our best to continue with our run that we are in right now, the rest we cannot control."
