Leif Davis was shown a red card in the 32nd minute for a poor tackle on Saka, that ultimately forced the England attacker hobbling from the field early in the second half to receive ice treatment.

With fears rising over whether Saka had picked up another serious injury following his hamstring injury that caused the Hale End graduate to miss four months of the season, Arteta was asked about the injury after the Gunners all but doomed Kieran McKenna's side to relegation back to the Championship.

However, speaking after the match, Arteta downplayed the issue, saying:  "The referee has made a decision. It's a bit sore but nothing serious."
