Mikel Merino gives Arsenal injury boost ahead of Arsenal vs PSG
Arsenal's makeshift striker Mikel Merino has boosted the Gunners by training ahead of crunch Champions League clash
Merino handed the Gunners an injury boost after the 28-year-old training on the eve of the club’s Champions League semi-final against Paris St Germain.
Auxilliary forward Merino took part in the Gunners Monday afternoon training session at the club's HQ London Colney easing fears the former Real Soceidad midfielder might miss Tuesday’s crucial first leg at the Emirates - after the Spaniard picked up a knock that rendered him unavailable for the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace six days ago.
Merino could drop back to his natural position in midfield when facing the billionaire Parisian moneybags with Thomas Partey suspended for the clash, after picking up a late yellow card at the end of the 2-1 victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the quarter-finals earlier this month.
Leandro Trossard could lead Arsenal’s attacking options with the Belgian netting four goals in his past four league appearances.
Ben White, who like Merino missed Arsenal’s draw with the Eagles also took part in training, but fellow defender Riccardo Calafiori remains out.
