Find out who impressed with our Arsenal U21 Player Ratings

Arsenal U21 2-1 Newcastle United U21:

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji’s first half penalty was pegged back by Magpies No4 Scott Bailey’s long-range effort shortly after the break prior to Khayon Edward's last gasp spot-kick which sealed a hard-fought victory for Mehmet Ali's side.

Find out who impressed with our Player Ratings from Meadow Park

Tommy Setford: 8/10 - Young Guns 19-year-old Dutch keeper preferred instead of Khari Ranson after the latter had a disappointing game last time out at Meadow Park during the 2-2 draw with Derby U21s. A superb first half save from Sean Neave saw the promising netminder athletically tip the ball over the bar from the Magpies No9. Did the same in the second half from Jay Turner Cook’s dangerous free kick. Excellent handling and distribution allied with a good temperament. Not to mention displaying superb alertness at all times.

Michal Rosiak: 7.5/10 - The team’s dead ball specialist displayed excellent technique along the backline

Marcell Washington: 7/10 - Dovetailed well with Nathan Butler-Oyedeji along the left flank at times. Engaged in an absorbing duel with Magpies No7 Ben Parkinson

Brayden Clarke: 7/10 - Calm and composed

William Sweet: 7/10 - Worked hard to contain Newcastle No9 Sean Neave

Jack Henry-Francis: 7.5/10 - Rolled down socks and brimming full of commitment as ever. Angled second half shot flew narrowly over the bar

Ismeal Kabia: 7.5/10 - Manhandled at times through a series of agricultural challenges including from Newcastle left-back Dylan Charlton, who simply could not contain the Arsenal No7’s pace and trickery by fair means

Jimi Gower: 7/10 - Displayed a superb touch at times and always available to give and receive the ball with tireless movement. Booked late on when scything down marauding Newcastle attacker Garang Kuol in an action known as taking one for the team

Andre Harriman-Annous: 6.5/10 - Won the Young Guns first half spot-kick after referee Harry Wager adjudged the No9 to have been fouled in the box. Not as influential as the young striker would have liked to have been even if the Magpies backline was a tough act to break down

Salah Oulad M’Hand: 7/10 - If there is one word that sums up the extremely talented No10 it has to be 'mercurial'....to be used invariably after the attacker frustratingly loses possession in the middle of the park…such a talented player on the ball but, frustratingly to all who’ve charted his progress, unfortunately his output does not match his outstanding technique at times

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji: 7.5/10 - Successfully slotted home his first half penalty to cap a good week after making his Premier League debut during the Arsenal first team’s 4-0 victory over Ipswich at Portman Road. Replaced by fellow young Guns first teamer Charles Sagoe Jnr late on

Substitutes:

Charles Sagoe Jnr: 7/10 - Swapped with Nathan Butler-Oyedeji as the clock ticked down

Khayon Edwards: 8/10 - Replaced Andre Harriman-Annous with five minutes remaining to become the Gunners hero by coolly slotting home his 93rd penalty to seal victory
