With 35 matches played, the world's most competitive league is winding down to its final games to decide a champion. Arsenal has led the league for most of the season in dominant fashion but has shown vulnerabilities against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, which is looking to salvage its season after a debilitating loss to archrival Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals' penalty shootout.

From the perspective of the "Gunners," their journey in the quarterfinals also ended in a fiercely contested battle against the German powerhouse, Bayern Munich, with Arsenal narrowly losing with an aggregate score of 3-2. Under the guidance of Spanish manager Mikel Arteta, the English club has shown noteworthy progress and competitiveness. Arteta has cultivated a youthful, yet ambitious squad characterized by a blend of burgeoning talent and strategic acumen. Key players like Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, and Martin Odegaard have been instrumental in this transformation.

Two Matches Left

Arsenal is one point ahead of Manchester City, but City has yet to play their Week 36 match against Fulham, who are currently 13th and have little to gain as they have already secured their stay in the Premier League but are far from qualifying for any European competition. They play as visitors on the upcoming 11th of May. With a victory, they would surpass Arsenal by two points; with a draw, they would still trail Arteta’s "Gunners" due to goal difference.

Manchester City

Guardiola's team will face a formidable Tottenham Hotspur, who are desperately trying to secure their Europa League spot for next year, as visitors on Tuesday, May 14th, and finish their season at home against West Ham, who are currently 9th but have been eliminated from European competitions for next season.

Arsenal

The current leaders, Arsenal, must play what could be considered an anticipated final game against the always dangerous Manchester United, who need help from Tottenham to qualify for the last Europa League spot—a fall from grace for a legendary team. They meet at Old Trafford on Sunday, May 12th, and finish their league campaign at home against Everton, who will be celebrating their participation in next year’s Premier League.

"Gunners" Gaffer Could Miss the Last Game

With the pressure mounting in the final stages of the Premier League, emotions are running high. This could end up costing Arsenal’s coach, Arteta, who is just one yellow card away from being suspended for the next match. The Spanish manager is renowned for his animated demeanor along the sidelines during games, and this season, he has the most yellow cards among Premier League managers. Arteta has received cautions in games against Fulham, Brighton, Luton, and in both of Arsenal's matches against Chelsea.

This could be devastating in Arsenal's bid to win the Premier League, as the last time Arteta was not with the team was against Aston Villa at Villa Park, which resulted in a 0-1 loss. The tension is palpable as the London team tries to end a 20-year Premier League title drought.

Sportsbooks Special Promotions for the Finals

Various sportsbooks have identified Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as the clear frontrunners to win the Premier League, with a notable probability of 64.54%, while Arsenal, commonly referred to as the "Gunners," holds a 35.45% chance of clinching the title. This indicates a keenly contested race to the finish line. As the season progresses towards its climax, the excitement continues to build, with UK betting sites capitalizing on this high-stakes scenario.

These platforms are actively promoting the competition by offering a variety of enticing promotions and special bets designed to attract both seasoned bettors and newcomers. These initiatives aim to enhance the excitement around the league's decisive matches, making every game feel like a critical part of the championship puzzle. As the tension builds, fans and bettors alike are keenly watching every match, knowing that any outcome could dramatically shift the odds, adding to the unpredictability and thrill of the Premier League.

What Lies in the Future for Arsenal?

Arsenal’s improvement over the last five seasons has been evident. Under Arteta, the team has increased their Premier League point tally by almost 30 points from their total of 53 in 2020. Since Mikel Arteta took the helm, the team has consistently improved year after year, despite some critical views from the media and a section of the fan base.

Aretas impact

Under Arteta's guidance, Arsenal has gradually enhanced its tactical approaches and overall team cohesion, resulting in better performances each season. The “Gunners” have a bright future with a hyper-talented young team including players like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Declan Rice, who have shown a significant leap in quality over the past couple of seasons.
